Name: Captain 'Deadeye' Amaranth
Age: 35 (Physically 25)
Sex: Male
Starting Planet: Earth
Race: Cerealian
Transformation Path: Cerealian
Racial Traits: Long Lifespan, Evolved Right Eye, Incredible Insight
Items: One-Time Use Space Pod
Fighting Style: Balanced
Faction: Earth Defense Force
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Appearance: Amaranth stands at 6'3 with a very toned and muscular build that has been littered with various scars due to battle. As is characteristic of his race, his hair is a rather bright teal color, and his right eye is a crimson one, although he can often be seen in a pair of sunglasses that cover this up. He can also often be seen puffing away on at least one cigar. He received his nickname 'Deadeye' partially due to his often intense and intimidating gaze.
Personality: Amaranth, at his very core, is a good-willed person. He truly wants and fights for the best for the well-being of the innocent, and the swift deliverance of justice on the evil. That being said, it often doesn't come off that way very well to outsiders. He can often come off as brash, rude, or plain disrespectful when engaging with those he doesn't know, even in terms of those who are physically or officially above him. In this way, he takes after his father, as he doesn't always play by the rules, and has even shown blatant disregard for them in the past. These factors have earned him quite the reputation amongst his allies, and those who have never met him are often intimidated by him.
Despite his cold exterior, Amaranth is a caring man. He cares deeply for the safety of the innocent, especially the Humans, and will endlessly put himself into harms way to protect them. When he feels strongly that something has to happen, he seldom lets anything et in his way or obscure him from completing that objective. He feels that the battle against evil can never truly be won. These factors, along with years of experience, have made him a great soldier.
Lastly, Amaranth loves cigars, and will more often than not be seen with one in his mouth.
History: Amaranth was born as the only son of two Cerealians on planet Cereal 35 years ago. His father was a former warrior of the Cerealian army, and his mother a healer. Their life was a simple, but satisfying one, with Amaranth's father having been discharged from the Cerealian army due to insubordination, among other things. The family life was good, but Amaranth's father had always wanted more. He yearned for conquest. He wanted more out of life. More wealth, more power, and more glory. When he turned eight, after a long internal battle, Amaranth's father decided to desert their simple family life in search of that new conquest. He found it amongst the ranks of the Planetary Trade Organization.
Even in the PTO, Amaranth's father wanted more. He was tired of simply being a pawn in their game and, although he was slowly rising through the ranks of the organization, he wasn't satisfied. This led to him defying orders on more than one occasion, in attempts to usurp more power from the organization. Unfortunately, the man angered the wrong official with his insubordination. In an act of revenge, and a show of power, the official had Amaranth's mother killed, and Amaranth kidnapped into space.
Angered, Amaranth's father tracked down his kidnappers, and attacked them. The battle was intense, but Amaranth's father would eventually be overpowered. In a last ditch effort to save his son, Amaranth's father loaded him into an escape pod that was programmed to head towards the nearest planet; Earth.
Amaranth landed on Earth with the only thing on his mind being an intense hatred of the PTO for what they had done to his family. Despite only being eight, he set out to deliver justice in anyway possible, but he quickly realized that without a home and food to eat, he wouldn't get very far. Fortunately, he was taken in by a family of Earthlings. As he grew older, he grew a large fondness for the Humans and their kind nature, having taken him in as one of their own.
Amaranth grew up on earth with a strong sense of justice. He didn't have any way to deliver it to the PTO directly, for he was far too weak, and didn't possess the resources needed to confront them. He decided, though, that the least he could do was to protect this planet that he'd grown to love in any way possible. And so, he joined the Earth Defense Force.
Amaranth would slowly rise through the ranks of the force. His Cerealian biology only served to help him in his efforts. He is known for his sniping ability, and his accuracy with ranged weapons, leading to his nickname 'Deadeye', and he's ascended to the level of captain.
With the recent arrival and attacking of the Saiyans and other forces on planet Earth, and tensions with the Red Ribbon Army still at an all-time high, Amaranth has realized that the Earth doesn't have much in the way of capable protectors, and he's decided to commit himself ton getting stronger. He also plans to eventually take Cereal back from the Saiyans in the name of the Cerealians.

They never learned their lesson. So long as there was money to make or power to gain, they were there to claim it. It didn't matter though. If they were bringing harm to innocent people, he would be there to stop them every single time.
Amaranth stood leaned against the wall with his arms crossed. He puffed on his cigar as he watched the squad he'd been assigned pack into the ship they were to take to the scene. Once the last officer packed into the vehicle, he stepped off the wall to look over the squad. "This is who they gave me, huh? Hm...." He said, glancing over each and every one of the officers. His eyes landed on the one who had gotten into the vehicle last, a young man who'd looked as though she had just completed basic training. A rookie officer, he was sure of it.
The two made eye contact as Amaranth gave the boy one of his notorious dead-eyed glares. The young man immediately looked away, a bead of sweat rolling down his face. "Sorry excuse for an officer..." Amaranth muttered, as he turned away from the ship and started to walk in the opposite direction. "C-Captain...aren't you coming with us!?" One of the officers asked, as the ship prepared to liftoff. "I'll meet you there." Amaranth responded, before putting his sunglasses on, and shooting into the air.
The scenario was a relatively simple one. Red Ribbon had overstepped their boundaries once again. This time, they had apparently discovered a huge deposit of some resource that was valuable to their weapon-making process out somewhere in the bamboo forest of the Eastern continent. That was all fine, but there was just one little problem. The fact that this deposit happened to be buried deep a couple of miles underneath a village of innocent civilians. Of course, Red Ribbon wasn't going to let that slide, and they decided to burn down the village in order to get what they were looking for. That wasn't going to fly on Amaranth's watch.
Amaranth arrived above the Bamboo Forest, and it wasn't hard to locate the commotion. A thick layer of smoke coming from an opening somewhere across the trees gave everything away. He flew closer to the scene.
It was just as intel had told him. Soldiers walking around with flamethrowers burning down the small huts that made up the village. A tank rolling in to clear out some of the trees. Villagers cowering in fear at the loss of their homes. If only he'd arrived sooner...
Oh well. He had to do what he could here. Amaranth darted down to the scene, taking out soldier after soldier. It didn't take long for the rest of his squad to show up with fire extinguishers, and his own officers leaping down to join the fight. The fight only grew more and more intense.
"Evacuate the remaining villagers!" Amaranth commanded, as he continued to fight. After putting all his effort into destroying the tank, Amaranth had found himself in the midst of the battle against a larger man, with a power level comparable to his. The two traded blows while the battle raged on. Amaranth, exhausted, had found himself brought to one knee. The Red Ribbon officer began to approach him. Everything looked grim until a shot emerged from the fight into the back of Amaranth's opponent, stunning him for a moment, before he fell onto the ground. Startled, Amaranth immediately searched for who fired the shot.
Out of the wilderness emerged none other than the young man Amaranth had berated earlier. The young man ran up to Amaranth, and offered him a hand to help stand up. Amaranth ignored the helping hand and stood up on his own, glaring at the boy once more, who immediately became frightened again. "You..." Amaranth began, breathing heavily. He paused for a moment, before offering his hand for the boy to shake. "You'll make a fine officer." Amaranth finished, shaking hands with the boy, and returning to the fight.
